So...R and I went on our honeymoon to Disney World. I hadn't been since I was 7.

It was AMAZING. I can't even begin to convey to you how much fun we had-we still talk about how fun that trip was. Everything about it was awesome. The people that work there are genuinely friendly. There's TONS to do. It's a world unto itself, and it's so friggin' fantastic.

I warned R that he was going to create an addict, and he did. I'm so ready to go back! I think he would prefer less frequent visits but I'm ready to go again, as in soon. I think everything 6 months should suffice.

I don't know why this is on my mind at the moment. I think the recent bit of cold weather and the fact that R has had to work on the car so much lately (which is hopefully fingers crossed please please please going to be done in the next day or two) has made me crave sun and being in a fun place where there's zero responsibility on my part. And if I get into a PhD program (which I really really really hope I do this time around) I realized that I don't have the luxury of going on a vacation in, say, February again for a while-not that we're going on vacation in February, it's just kinda cool to think that we could if we had the time and money for it. Such a novelty.

OK I'm off to think about Mickey and the awesome popcorn at Magic Kingdom some more. If any of you want to go with me on vacation to WDW anytime soon, gimme a heads up so I can start saving...

So, as much as I'd love to go to Disney as an adult (without wee children-or maybe with wee children) I think I have to wait until I can get myself a Nook (Barnes and Nobles version of a Kindle). I've got the bug and $259 is steep but I really want one of these. I'm tired of holding great big old books while I try to read.
You crave Disney, I crave Nook. I guess we're both about as likely to get what we crave :(
Oh well, I'm really glad you all had such an awesome time.

was the Harry Potter stuff open yet? I know Emily really wants to go, esp. mid-winter.

Harry Potter is at universal...and I have no idea if it's open or not. If it's not already, then it's opening soon. Rick really wants to go to Universal next time (as much as I want to go to Disney, it would be cool to go to Universal and stay at one of their resorts). JOINT VACATION OPPORTUNITY!

I just looked at the nook stuff and it looks pretty friggin' fantastic. I may start craving nook as well...it would be cool if they had a way to "rent" a book for .99 cents or something, where you get it for a month or so.

But still, it looks awesome. I'm sure it will probably do like the Kindle and sell out for the first 12 months they have them...but it would be a cool thing to have. Unforunately I think it would also make me spend lots of money because I would keep buying 10.00 books (which I don't mind but the bill collectors will I'm sure). Oh well.

I'm still waiting for more color, interactive features for a "reader." but I'm sure it's inevitable that I'll get one one day.

but I'd really want one that can incorporate all kinds of media, such as any pdf or other documents (for academic articles and the like). it would be SUPER for translating if you can have a foreign text and a dictionary built in as well!

that's the hope, anyway.
